What should I wear?
It is all very casual so don't worry too much about what to wear. Basically wear what you would to a gym. The main thing is to be comfortable.
What shoes should I wear?
Shoes are important. Comfortable trainers with a sole that does not stick is a good option. Some people go bare foot but this is not the preferred option. Others wear dance shoes but this is purely personal taste.
Don't forget there is a full range of Zumba® Wear but there is no pressure to buy it.
Am I too old, too unfit or too overweight to do Zumba®?
Unless you have a medical condition the answer is no!
Zumba® Gold has been designed specifically for the deconditioned or older person and can be modified to suit the individual needs of people - there is even chair Zumba!
Is it hard to do?
Zumba® is simply moving to the music and having fun so really there is no right or wrong way. Most people feel a bit self conscious the first time until they realise that no one is watching them - they are too interested in having their own fun. They have all been there and you will find that they are all very willing to help.
There is really no right or wrong way to do it.
Some people just get straight in to it on the first go but most people need 2 or 3 classes until they get the hang of it.
After a month or so you will be "Zumbaing" with the best of them.
Which class is best for me?
Zumbatomic ® is specifically for children 4-7 (the little stars) and 8-12 (the big stars) so that is easy.
Zumba® is for all ages. You can choose your own level of intensity by adjusting your arm movements and tempo - your instructor will tell you how. Classes start and finish at low intensity with periods of medium and high intensity throughout the lesson.
We offer classes of two levels of intensity - normal and high. Both are suitable for beginners
If you are less conditioned, or more mature then Zumba®Gold is probably best for you. These classes start and finish at low intensity moving into medium with some high levels of intensity.
When is the best time to start?
There is no time like now.
You can join classes at any time.
As a beginner just join in - there is no set course you need to attend.
